idk how I missed this ask from ages ago I’m sorry 😭 but personally, I wouldn’t mind if someone tagged me in a directory without asking bc I know a lot of people send in recommendations for directories that the op may not have read (I got lots of recs when I made my directory)
but I do also try to reach out first just to say hey and let them know I’ve received their fic as a recommendation for the directory just as a heads up! not everyone answers so I usually include them anyways bc I don’t want to seem like I’m excluding anyone
also you can kinda think of it like a fic rec list? I think tons of people try to share fics even if they haven’t necessarily read them!
anyways does that make sense? I say all that to say, don’t listen to your social anxiety!!! someone that loved your work probably shared it with the op and they just didn’t think to reach out!
